Ben and Cara met at a Valentine's Day party in 2010. They hardly talked, mainly due to the fact that Ben was busy building a party playlist and would not be disturbed. They finally got to chat at a later gathering, where Cara sang a karaoke version of a Frank Sinatra tune and Ben chose something by the Beastie Boys.

Some weeks later, Ben attended one of Cara's performances and they made plans to go to a jam session at the now-defunct Acton Jazz Cafe. Hypothetically: is it dishonest to play a musical instrument on a first date, thus giving the impression of being a musician, only to basically quit the instrument from that day forward? In fairness to Ben, he dropped his horn (literally) circa 2011 and didn't get it fixed until a few months ago.

Their relationship survived the grueling trials of multiple film and music projects and a few international adventures. They are excited to tie the proverbial knot after an admittedly brief courtship.
